God Grew Tired Of Us
In sociology class this week we watched a movie called "God Grew Tired Of Us" which was about The Lost Boys of Sudan. It was about their journey from their home land to a safer place. They went through so many hardships to be alive today. That is why we shouldn't take things in our life for granted. We think that our lives are so difficult and get upset over little things when we don't appreciate it. The Lost Boys had no parents and they were all younger than 16 years old taking care of one another. We should all be thankful that we have parents and a roof over our heads. Some of the Lost Boys were able to come to the United States for a fresh start at life and were amazed of every little thing we take for granted. For example, showers, refrigerator, a bed and much more! Some of the boys were getting jobs and taking classes at colleges to try and help themselves out with their new lifestyle. Their culture of Sudan was different than ours so when they came here to America they thought they had to get water from the lakes and much more. It is a great thing America is doing by helping these Lost Boys have a new start at life and sometimes helping them be reunited with family members.

You're right that we need to be more appreciative of what we have because many people don't appreciate that. Good post!
ReplyDeleteIt's unbelievable how fortunate we are as Americans and that we should be thankful for what have. We have so many opportunities and so much potential. The lost boys don't have that. Good post.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever experienced culture shock? Good explanation on the movie.
